'Snowdonia Mountain Range from Betwys-yn-Rhos', 40x40cm oil on board (framed)

 This painting is of a view from Betwys-yn-Rhos with the Snowdon mountain range in the background. The reference photo that I based this on was kindly provided by Josh Parry. Josh took this picture in the evening as the sun was dropping. The scene almost looks like it is from Tuscany, with idyllic rolling hills in the mid ground and a golden blanket of light illuminating the whole landscape.

 Although the painting largely reflects the reference photograph from Josh, I did add a number of details to the painting. The most significant changes were the introduction of the large tree in the foreground and also the gap in the 1st fence. I included these to give the viewer both a key feature in the lower portion of the painting as drawing the eye into the painting, moving up into the hills and beyond.
